EBSCO Interface
The publisher EBSCO provides its users with an alphabetical catalog of its e-resources (an "A-to-Z list") from which they can easily select the e-resource they want to use. In order to provide the advantages of HAN to all organizations that use the EBSCO alphabetical catalog, a special interface has been created to link the EBSCO list to HAN.
EBSCO support in HAN: HAN can be smoothly integrated in environments that use EBSCO's alphabetical catalog. Once the EBSCO proxy has been appropriately configured by a simple procedure, all the links in the EBSCO alphabetical catalog are automatically redirected so that users access the e-resources through the HAN server. This centralized routing mechanism extends all the advantages of HAN to EBSCO journals. The HAN and EBSCO systems do not compete with one another. On the contrary, HAN adds the following features to EBSCO´s capabilities:
- User authentication; single sign-on
- Password management
- Fine-grained access control
- Remote access for authorized users
- License management
- Publisher-independent, uniform, COUNTER-compatible usage statistics
- Subscription management
- Inventory
