HAN in Libraries
The use of HAN as a management system in libraries.
Who is authorised to access the online resources?
The registration (authentication) of end users takes place via interfaces to existing systems such as library systems (SISIS, LBS Pica, etc.) or global registration systems (e.g. LDAP, Shibboleth, etc.). In addition, already defined access criteria (user groups etc.) can be adopted for the definition of authorisations in HAN (authorisation). This allows the library to provide online resources in a customized and differentiated manner.
This means that the license agreement can be used to decide who is allowed to access certain online resources and who is not.
The direct provision of online resources then takes place regardless of whether the end user has logged in from the library or from home. This also applies to so-called campus licenses.
