HAN in the publishing house
Advantages of using HAN as a management system directly in the publishing house.
How are my online resources protected against misuse?
To avoid economic loss, it is essential for publishers to protect their own online resources from misuse. For this reason, many functions are integrated into HAN that meet the needs of content providers for security when providing online resources. Metering, for example, enables online resources to be protected from misuse. This is done by precisely monitoring the amount of data transmitted between the provider and the user. Access by individual users can be automatically blocked for a defined period of time as soon as they exceed the data volumes permitted in the license agreement.
The HAN administrator receives an immediate automatic notification of any blocks. He checks whether it is a case of misuse or not. In special cases, if there is no misuse, the HAN administrator can remove the block manually via the HAN client.
Another important feature of HAN is the ability to set crawler protection to prevent unauthorized access to online resources and misuse of licenses. This special crawler protection ensures protection against access via piracy platforms (e.g. Sci-Hub) or the unauthorized, systematic downloading of content.
